The Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) have been in Wassa IDP camp for almost two years. Hadiza Ahmodu, just like other women here, longs to reunite with her husband whom she said has been abducted since 2015.
She explained that the absence of amenities here especially, medical facilities further compounded their trauma.
There are more than Six thousand Internally Displaced Persons in the Wassa IDP camp but something is disheartening in these camp.
Just like most IDPS camp in Nigeria, facilities is not existing here.
When speaker of the House of Representative, Yakubu Dogara visited these camp in January, he promised to provide a clinic for them and he has fulfilled his promises courtesy of Vantage habitat.
The speaker was quoted as saying, “we will visit all the IDPs camp at the theatre of conflict in the Northeast and when we are done with that, we will take a visit to the IDPS at Yola”.
Ironically, Hadiza and other here insist that they want to go home
