President Muhammadu Buhari has restated his administration’s commitment towards upholding the principles of separation of powers as enshrined in the 1999 constitution as amended. Speaking at a presidential dinner in honor of the National Assembly members, the President however said the three arms of Government must ensure that actions conceived and taken are in strict accord with their limited constitutional powers.
Buhari Hosts Press Corps

IGP Orders Disarmament of IPOB
The Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase has ordered the police formation in the South East and South-South geo-political zones of the Country to disarm members of the Independent People of Biafra, IPOB.
This is contained in a statement signed by ASP Olabisi Kolawole, force public relations officer.
It adds that since the armed IPOB group attacks people and police officers in a premeditated manner, the armed group should be disarmed immediately.
it noted that, IGP Arase who condemned the killing by members of the group also directed that any member of the group found in possession of firearm should be arrested and prosecuted, just as all member arrested in connection with the killing of policemen be charged to court for murder.
