President Buhari Challenges World Leaders On IDP’S

Nigeria has warned that unless there is collective resolve by world leaders to develop more effective strategies in addressing large movements of refugees and migrants as well as humanitarian needs of IDP’S in Nigeria, the global aspirations towards achieving the 2030 sustainable development goals may be impeded.

President Muhammadu Buhari who gave the warning while addressing participants at the united nation’s first ever summit on refugees and migrants in new york, said humanity is better promoted and protected if leaders work for the common good of all.

State House Correspondent Adamu Sambo reports that more than 190 Heads of State and Governments attended the summit.

President Buhari Non-Aligned Summit Movement

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged member- nations of the non-aligned movement to share experiences in tackling the global economic crisis characterized by the collapse of commodity prices worsening youth unemployment and exchange rate instability among others.

His views were expressed in a message read on his behalf by the Minister of state for Foreign Affairs, Hajiya Khadija Bukar Ibrahim at the seventeenth Summit of Heads of State and Government of the non-aligned movement in Margarita, Venezuela.

Suspected boko haram terrorists who were foraging for food, ambushed troops of Operation Lafiya Dole escorting commercial vehicles from Damboa to Maiduguri, at Sanda General Area, Borno State.
