Flood in Niger State
Over 50 communities in Edati and Nokwa local government areas of Niger state have been displaced by flood.
There are fears that in the coming days, more communities may be affected as the water level continues to rise.
There are also fears of farm harvest being lost.

Cape Verde Election Result
The incumbent president of Cape Verde, Jorge Carlos Fonseca has won the October 2 presidential election.
He defeated two other independent candidates by a wide margin of 74% representing 90% of total votes cast.
President Fonseca had the support of the majority party in parliament, the movement party for democracy, MPD.
He will now preside over Cape Verde for another five years in office.
