President Buhari and German Chancellor Angela Merkel and her team at the Chancellery in Berlin this morning
Nigeria President Buhari yesterday morning departs Abuja to Germany is expected to confer with German Chancellor on security and economy and he was accompanied by Governors Rochas Okorocha of Imo and Kashim Shettima of Borno States was seen off at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by the Minister of FCT Muhammad Musa Bello and other senior Government officials.
He later arrived Berlin late in the night, President Buhari will confer with Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel on issues of shared interests between Nigeria and Germany, including further cooperation on security.
“My team and I met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and her team at the Chancellery in Berlin this morning. We had very fruitful discussions on a range of issues. The fight against terrorism and the rebuilding of the Northeast, trade and economic relations between Nigeria and Germany, among others.” President Buhari
Later today President Buhari will deliver an address at a Germany-Nigeria Business Forum, that will be attended by German and Nigerian businesspersons and investors. President Buhari said “I will tell the audience about what we’re doing to secure Nigeria, fight corruption and the abuse of public trust, and revamp and diversify our economy.”
Nigeria’s President added that “I will also be reiterating our message that Nigeria is open for business and investment, and we will do everything to protect domestic and foreign investment.”
