Monday Market Sunday Bomb Blast
Two explosives went off by Monday Market in Maiduguri, Borno state capital Sunday morning killing suspected two female suicide bombers and injuring several people.
Mohammed Ibrahim reports that the explosions occurred before the commencement of trading activities in the area.

Navy Promotes Senior Officers
The Nigerian Navy has approved the promotion of Seventy three of its Senior Officers.
The exercise saw the promotion of fifteen Commodores to the rank of Rear Admiral, thirty-nine Captains to Commodores while nineteen Commanders were elevated to Captains.
A statement by the Navy’s Director of Information Rear Admiral Christian Ezekobe who was also promoted to the new rank says the Senior Officers are to see their new position as a call to greater responsibilities.
Special Prayers For President Buhari
Special prayers for Nigeria and its leadership were offered by the Muslim Ummah seeking Allah’s guidance and protection for President Muhammadu Buhari in his efforts to steer the country out of the present economic recession, fight against corruption and other crimes against humanity.
The prayer session which coincided with President Buhari’s five hundred days in office, held at the Juma’a ful Izala headquarters with special focus on effects of corruption on the Country’s socio-economic status.

Army Debunks Allegation Of Killing
Six Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt has debunked allegation of killing and mass arrest by soldiers in Tai, Ogoni and Gokana Local Government during Saturday legislative re-run election in Rivers State.
A statement by the General Officer Commanding, GOC 6 Division Major General Kasimu Abduilkarim described the allegation made by some respected politicians as false and aims at causing disaffection between the division and the general public.
The statement adds that the soldiers only provided security to prevent miscreants from hijacking the process.
