The Nigerian Army has debunked the rumour that troops of operation Lafiya Dole are ill-treated and not well fed.

This was at a press conference by theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole Major General Lucky Irabor in Maiduguri.

He called on the media to shun negative and misguided publications adding that the

FG declares 26th and 27th December 2016 as public Holiday  to celebrate Christmas 

The Federal Government has declared Monday the 26th, Tuesday 27th December 2016 and Monday 2nd January 2017 as public holidays to mark the Christmas, Boxing day and New year 2017 celebrations.

Making the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government the Minister of Interior Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau urged all Christian faithful and Nigerians in general, to remain committed and supportive of the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari, in his sustained efforts towards building a peaceful, united and prosperous nation.

General Dambazau also urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for unity and peaceful co-existence across the country.

The Minister wishes all Nigerians at home and abroad, a Merry Christmas and prosperous 2017.

FG Approves Whistle Blowing Policy 

A whistle-blowing programme and supporting policy have been approved by the Federal Government as a deliberate attempt to strengthen the mechanism for the fight against corruption.

NLC to monitor Paris Refund

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has directed it Councils Nationwide to monitor receipt and the utilisation of the refund of Paris debt deductions.

A statement by the General Secretary of NLC, Dr Peter Ozo-Eson says the Congress has noticed the disbursement of the refund of Paris debt deductions made to states which it pointed out represents a major injection of funds into the coffers of the state Governments.According to NLC the Federal Government guideline in releasing these funds stipulates that at least fifty percent of receipts should be applied to the payment of Salary arrears and pensions.

Thirty Two Young  Nigerians Receive grant for business start-up

Thirty-two young Nigerians with compelling business ideas have emerged successful in the first phase of the Young Nigerian Professionals Forum, YNPF YES grant.

Jigawa state presents N127.87 billion 2017 budget

Jigawa state Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has presented a budget of one hundred and twenty seven billion,  eighty seven million naira  to the state house of Assembly for the 2017 fiscal year. Habibu Hussain reports that the budget tagged “Budget of Economic diversification and self-sufficiency is seven percent less than that of 2016.
