The Ambassador was in Kebbi to familiarize himself with the state and its potential. He acknowledged the current efforts being made in the Agricultural sector.
The state governor told the envoy that the state does not require loans but tangible equipment to boost its agricultural drive.
According to him, “Kebbi State does not want foreign aid, we prefer loan facility like advance 500,000 tractors to the state which our state could repay either in cash or through crops which we are quite capable of producing.
The Governor informed the American envoy that the partnership of state with Lagos State on rice production led to LAKE rice stressed that his administration commitment to agriculture has provided jobs opportunity’s to unemployed youths in the state.
Following his conversation with the state health commissioner Alh Mohammed Kambaza, Amb. Synington that the American Government would like to partner with the state government on eradicating malaria. This is in addition to current efforts being made under the USAID scheme.
He commended the state government for ensuring security of its people, education of children and agriculture revolution stressed that he was overwhelmed seen farmers and school children going to their respective working places.
Gifts were exchanged and and the envoy left the city back to his base after exchanging pleasantries with the wife of the governor, Dr Zainab Bagudu and her team.
