First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan has been award the Gleehd Award for advancing Women’s role in policy formulation by the Foundation for leadership and International development. The Director-General, National Centre for Women Development, Onyeka Onwenu who received the award on behalf of Dame Patience Jonathan at the Nigerian Centennial Celebration Gala Award Night in London, handed it over to the First Lady at the Presidential Villa Abuja. Dame Patience Jonathan was recognized for her deep passion in championing the cause of women as well as her philanthropic programmes towards the well being of the vulnerable in society.
Similarly, the regional Vice President of the World Assembly of Youths Mr. Marvin Yobana has expressed appreciation of the assembly to the First Lady for the successful hosting of the National Youth Peace Concert in Abuja. He said the assembly will follow up and ensure the youths continue to act as peace ambassadors in their areas of influence.
