The Comptroller Oyo/Osun Area Command of Customs, Oyo State, Odibu, C. O, paid a courtesy visit to the Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in a bid to reinforce and strengthen the existing collaborative relationship between the EFCC and Customs in the fight against corruption.
The visit coming three months after the previous visit was occasioned by the transfer of the former Comptroller E. D Chikan. The new Customs Area Comptroller of Oyo/Osun Area Command who was accompanied by his Principal Officers to the Ibadan zonal office of the EFCC today 22 February, 2018, was received by the Zonal Head, Mohammed Rabo on behalf of the Acting Executive Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Mustapha Magu.
In his welcome address, the Zonal Head applauded the officers and appreciated the Comptroller for finding time to visit the Commission despite his busy schedule. Speaking further, Rabo reiterated the imperative of a continuous and a more robust collaboration and partnership between the EFCC and Customs in the fight against corruption.
While stating the importance of the meeting, he said, “as a sister agency working in pursuit of the same goal, timely exchange of relevant information on request or as deem fit would enhance our operational processes. He thereafter assured the Comptroller that the visit will be reciprocated.
While responding, Compt. Odibu thanked the Zonal Head for the warm welcome and went on to state the essence of his visit.
According to him “I was told by my predecessors of the mutual relationship between the two organizations and that is why I have come here to introduce myself as the new Area Comptroller of Customs. Just like you have said, any time you need our help we are always there for you and any time we need your help we want you to do same. And we can always exchange information.”
