A new frontier of growth, development and influence of Nigeria globally has been recorded in the last two years. Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation Chief Edem Duke while presenting the 2013 ministerial platform in Abuja, noted that his feat was achieved through the promotion of the culture and tourism industry.
the Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Chief Edem Duke, who presented an indepth and comprehensive report of the Ministry’s achievements for the last two years, said that a new policy on culture which had been suspended in 2008 has been developed. He said 12 cultural centres across the country have been established while over 2,500 Nigerians are being trained in the culture and tourism sector.
The Minister stated that Nigeria is the number one destination investment in hospitality and called on Nigerians to develop a new sense of belief in the country.
The Minister who presented a documentary on the new tourism brand called “Fascinating Nigeria” to be launched in July commended President Goodluck Jonathan for recognising and supporting the culture and tourism industry.
