The Federal Government has put in place a Committee to look into the issueLabournsecurity, pipeline vandalism and crude- oil theft while PENGASSAN and NUPENG are to be engaged by the relevant Government agencies and security institutions on progress being made.
This is part of a 12 point resolution adopted by Oil and Gas Stakeholders during a meeting in Abuja.
The meeting jointly conveyed by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke and her Labour Productivity counterpart, Chief Emeka Wogu is a move to promoting industrial harmony in the oil and gas industry especially in the wake of the 3-day warning strike by NUPENG.
Issues of bad roads, unfair labour practices, the petroleum industry bill among others were discussed with an agreement reached by the Federal inland revenue service to pay NARTO members all verified claims within 14 days from July 3 2013.
