AbdulRazaq Jimoh, Maiduguri: Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State commended Victim Support fund (VSF) over the reconstruction of Bama LG that was destroyed by the Boko Haram.
The Governor at the commissioning yesterday at the Bama LG secretariat rebuild by the ministry of reconstruction, rehabilitation and resettlement and funded by VSF.
Governor Shettima while thanking the Chairman of VSF, General TY Danjuma and members of the committee for their support in rebuilding Dikwa and Bama LGs said “hoped that people of Bama will be resettled before Ramadan but security agents advised to hold on as they are still clearing the remnants of Boko Haram.”
Speaking earlier at the occasion, executive Secretary of the VSF Prof. Sunday Ochoche, said “we have spent over N368 million naira on the reconstructed projects.”
According to Ochoche, they have also engaged in school children education, construction of 16 schools in Damboa, Chibok and Askira Uba and also embarked on Women empowerment.
The chairman of VSF General TY Danjuma represented by his Vice Chairman, Alh. Tijjani Tumsah express appreciation to Governor Shettima for his support and cooperation.
Some of the projects commissioned include Bama LG secretariat, primary schools, Shehu of Bama’s palace and other public and private buildings.
