Driver to Die for Killing FRSC Marshall

The Appeal Court in Port Harcourt has upheld an earlier judgment by the Rivers State High Court sentencing a bus driver, Emeka Mbachu to death.

The court in 1999 passed the ruling following the killing of a Special Marshall of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Clifford Azubuike, while on patrol duty by the bus driver. Justice Eko in his lead judgment, dismissed the appeal filed by Emeka Mbachu against his earlier conviction and sentenced him to death.

Rivers State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Dr. Kayode Olagunju, who hailed the decision of the appellate court, warned motorists against acts of violence against FRSC officials on duty.
