The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim says there is need for synergy between the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures and the Federal Government.
He stated this when a delegation of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures led by its Chairman, Inuwa Garba paid him a courtesy call. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation who commended the Conference of the State Legislature for their willingness to collaborate with Federal Government.
He reiterated that the job of building the nation is not that of Mr. President or the Federal Government alone, but that all hands must be on deck to build the Nation together.
He point out that one of the objectives of the Nigeria Centenary celebration is to celebrate Nigeria, her history, heritage and achievements in the last 100 years and encourage the State Governments to identify and participate actively in the Centenary Celebration.
The Chairman of Conference of Speakers of State Legislature, Inuwa Garba in a remark said State Legislatures are major stakeholders in the process of entrenching democracy in the Country, and appealed to the Federal Government through the SGF for the inclusion of the Speakers in Committees usually set up by Presidency believing it would ensure that inputs of the grass roots in such Committees’ report for the overall interest of our Nation.
