President Goodluck Jonathan has ordered an immediate investigation into allegations of misconduct levelled against the Chairman, Pension Reform Task Team, RTT, Mr. Abdulrasheed Maina. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe gave the indication while speaking with newsman in Abuja. He said the President had directed the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Isah Bello to probe the Sunday allegations including that of contempt being leveled against the embattled Chairman by the Senate.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media, Dr. Reuben Abati dismissed insinuations that the President was backing Maina against the Senate. He pointed out that the Senate could summon anyone they so wish, adding that the President believes in due process as the matter will be handled by the Civil Service.
