Thousands trooped into former Kogi State Governor Late Prince Abubakar Audu’s home in Ogbonicha as rumours of a revival spread. A mammoth crowd besieged the residence.
However, Audu’s remains were laid to rest in his residence at Ogbonicha, Ofu Local Government Area of the state.
The remains of Prince Abubakar Audu was buried in accordance with Islamic rites this afternoon 1:50pm.
Many residents of his home town Ogbonicha paid tribute to arguably their most illustrious son.
“the death of Audu is an irreparable loss not only to Igala Kingdom, but Nigeria as a whole. late Audu will be greatly missed by the people of Ogbonicha”. Hajia Maryam said.
Notable at the burial are former Heads of States and some former governors from 1999-2007 which include Saminu Turaki, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Lucky Igbinedion, George Akume and Abdulkadir Kure.
Before his dead, the APC Governorship candidates in the inconclusive Kogi State Governorship election complained and suffered from stomach cramp.
