CAN President & Ekweremadu at NCPC Summit

By Edino Justice

The Summit is the Commission’s way of brainstorming on the way forward should the Federal Government implement the Oransaye Committee’s report that the Federal Government should stop sponsorship of Pilgrimage to Holy Lands.

The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu who acknowledged the spiritual and moral values of pilgrimages and its contributions to National peace said there is a need to seperate religion from the State. He therefore enjoined Churches to look inward.

NCPC Executive Secretary, John Kennedy Opara, said the Commission had achieved a lot within it’s few years of existence. He however called for caution on the Orasanye Committee’s report. The Stakeholders thereafter inspected some on-going projects.
