Yobe Govt Reacts to State of Emergency

Following the State of Emergency declaration for three States including Yobe by President Goodluck Jonathan, the Yobe State Government says it is in agreement with the President on the need to take more effective measures to address the problem of insecurity in the Country. A statement by the Special Adviser on Press Affairs and information to the Governor, Abdullahi Bego says the good people of Yobe State will work closely with the Security agents and will ensure that their conduct reflects the spirit of the emergency declaration and rules of engagement specified.

He noted that as the proclamation of a State of Emergency by the President does not affect the Political Structures in the State, the State Government under Governor Ibrahim Gaidam will remain focused and committed in the on-going task of transforming the state through the provision of much needed social services.
