The Kebbi State Govemmen has expressed willingness to strengthen bilateral relations on commerce, education and agriculture with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu gave this indication while receiving the outgoing Consul General of the Saudi Arabia Consulate Kano Sheikh Abdulmajid Ibn Muhammad Al-Khatani at the Government House Birnin Kebbi who paid him a fare-well visit.
The Governor requested the Consul General to encourage exchange visits between investors from Saudi Arabia and people from Kebbi State to consolidate economic ties especially export of farm produce to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Sen. Abubakar Atiku commended Sheikh-Majid for giving Kebbi State priority on the issuance of visas.
The Consult General said his stay would remain memorable due to the peaceful nature, support and cooperation he received from Nigerians. He pledged to facilitate the-promotion of trade and economic ventures between the two nations.
The visit offered the Consul General the opportunity to meet and interact with some prominent Islamic Scholars from the State such as Sheikh Umar Isah Birnin Kebbi, Sheikh Abubakar Atiku Walin Kalgo and Sheikh Mukhtar Abdullahi, Walin Gwandu.
Before departure from the State the Consul General paid homage to the Emir of Argungu Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammad Mera‚ Who conducted him round the famous KANTA MUSEUM housing the historical artifacts of the old Kabi Kingdom.
