The twenty one (21) day seclusion for the new Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi to ascend the throne has ended with the presentation of the age-long “Ade-Are” crown.
The presentation marks the traditional installation of the Fifty-First (51st) Ooni of Ife.
Oba Ogunwusi was presented with the crown by the custodian of a place called Oke-Ora, at Ile-funfun Opa, located between Ile-Ife and Osu, along Ilesa Road.
The traditional ruler, appeared in public for the first time after the 21 days in seclusion amidst indigenes and members of Isoro community.
Setting out as early as 5a.m., Oba Ogunwusi visited strategic places in the town, including his family house and Obalufe compound to perform some rites as demanded by tradition.
Activities lined up for the inauguration of the Oba would commence on Nov. 30 and end on Dec. 7 with the presentation of the Staff of Office by Gov. Rauf Aregbesola of Osun.
