CP FCT Assures Residents Of Proactive Policing
….Calls On Residents To Partner With The Police
DSP Anjuguri Manzah, Abuja; As part of the renewed strategy deployed by the FCT Police Command to effectively combat crime and rid the Federal Capital Territory of nefarious criminal activities, the Command in separate proactive crime prevention operations carried out by Gwagwa, Nyanya and Mabushi Divisions has successfully arrested some suspects in connection with illegal possession of firearm, one chance robbery and shop breaking respectively. The Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Musa Kimo psc while noting that the Command has also evolved proactive anti-crime measures like: aggressive intelligence gathering, mass deployment of police operatives both uniform and plain-cloth, constant raid of black spots, massive stop and search, etc; tasked residents of the Federal Capital Territory to see themselves as partners of the Police and should be ready to support the police with information that will aid the Police to serve them better. Some of the recent successes of the Command include:
On 01/03/17 acting on tip off surveillance operatives attached to Gwagwa Police Division arrested one Friday Adah ‘m’ age 30 years of Akaraka village, Jacob Daniel ‘m’ age 29 years of Akaraka village and Uche Egoronye ‘m’ age 24 years suspected members of a robbery syndicate with a barretta pistol. The suspects and exhibit have been transferred to the Command Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.
Similarly, on 25/02/17 at about 05:02pm acting on information anti-crime patrol team led by the Nyanya Divisional Police Officer arrested the duo of Idris Yahaya and Hukwu Hussein all male of Area F Nyanya with two cartons of double barrel cartridges and a pack; all numbering five hundred and twenty-five cartridges (525) carefully concealed in the carton. The suspects and recovered exhibits have been transferred to the Command Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.
In another development, on 2/03/17 at about 12:30 midnight police operatives attached to Mabushi Police Division acting on a distress call arrested the duo of Obinna Abel and Chukwudi Ilo while trying to rob their passengers. The syndicate is a notorious one chance robbery syndicate which specializes in using kitchen knife to rob their victims of valuables. The exhibits recovered from the suspects include eight phone different make, three (3) wrist watches and the cash sum of eighty-one thousand two hundred naira all suspected to have been robbed from their victims. Also recovered from the suspects is a dark maroon colour mazda car with reg. no. YAB 828 BH and a knife used for the operation. The suspects have all confessed to the crime and will be charged to court on conclusion of investigation.
