COVID-19: Foundation donates 1,500 face masks to Kebbi Govt
Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation on Monday donated 1,500 face masks to Kebbi Government as part of its contribution to contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state. Alhaji Muhammad Lawal, the Foundation’s representative,
presented the donation to Kebbi State Chairman of Task Force on COVID-19, Alhaji Ja’afar Muhammad, in Birnin Kebbi. He said the donation of the face masks was its support to the government in its fight against coronavirus pandemic in the state. “As part of our contribution towards the fight against the deadly coronavirus pandemic, the Foundation is donating 1,500 face masks to support the efforts of the Kebbi State Government.
”We will extend the same gesture to the 19 states in the north and the FCT. “This is in addition to the public awareness campaigns in various television and radio stations as well as social media platforms,” he said. Lawal said the Foundation would continue to support the state government in its efforts towards curtailing the spread of the coronavirus disease. Responding, Muhammad,
who was also the state Commissioner for Health, thanked the foundation for donating the face masks to the government. “The donation is timely, in view of the current campaign for compulsory use of face masks in public places in order to curtail the spread of coronavirus pandemic. “The face masks will go a long way in helping to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the state. “These face masks are re-usable masks, that is the advantage, you can use it again and again,” he said.
