DG UNESCO Commissions Regional Office

Nigeria is accomodating one of the Multi-Sectoral buildings of UNESCO as a regional office that will oversee the Organizations activities in eight Countries of the ECOWAS sub-region. The Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova commissioned the building in Abuja as part of her two day official visit to Nigeria.
Vice president Mohammed Namadi Sambo has expressed the determination of the Jonathan administration to sustaining support and a mutually beneficial relationship with the United Nations education, scientific and cultural organization, UNESCO. The vice president stated this while receiving in audience the Director General of UNESCO, Mrs Irina Bokova and her delegation.
