Senate President on Yobe Massacre
Senate President David Mark has described as inhuman, barbaric and unacceptable the gruesome murder of 28 students and a teacher in Potiskum, Yobe State by unknown gunmen.
Senator Mark stated that even in war situations, children and women are protected, emphasizing that killing children is akin to cutting down the future of a society.
While sympathising with the Government of Yobe State and the bereaved families over the unfortunate incident, the Senate President urged the security operatives to step up their surveillance to halt the trend and bring perpetrators to justice. He said Government opened adequate Windows for dialogue and therefore enough of this bloodshed.
