Federal Government To Infuse Space Technology Into The Nation’s Health and Educational Sectors
The Federal Government is to infuse space Technology into the Nation’s Health and Educational sectors.
The Annual Space Dialogue organized by the National Space Research and Development Agency is a platform where Nigeria’s space technological advancement is reviewed and new targets set. The theme for this year’s dialogue was “Achieving a Mass Economy For Nigeria Using Satellite Technology|”
At the event, Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Winifred Oyo-Ita stated that it is appropriate for a modern economy like ours to embrace space technology as we have done since 1999 and increase the space to enhance our sustainable socio-economical development as a nation.
Also at the occasion, the Vice Chancellor Achievers University Owo, Prof. Ibiyemi Samuel in his key note address enumerated the economic benefits the agency can generate for Nigeria.
The Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Communication technology in his goodwill message commended the federal government for setting a 2013/2018 strategic plan which is aimed at strengthening the capacity of Space Research in the country.
