FG Pushes State Partnership to Unlock Nigeria’s Blue Economy

The Federal Government is intensifying efforts to unlock the multi-billion-dollar potential of Nigeria’s marine and blue economy through stronger collaboration with state governments and public sector institutions.

Speaking at a high-level stakeholders’ engagement in Lagos, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, stressed the importance of strategic partnerships in driving sustainable economic growth.

The Minister said closer cooperation between the Federal Government and subnational authorities will help maximise opportunities in shipping, ports, fisheries, coastal tourism, maritime logistics, and other blue economy value chains.

The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to diversify Nigeria’s economy, attract investment, create jobs, and strengthen the country’s position as a leading maritime hub in Africa.
