The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Muttaqa Rabe Darma, has expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work on the Renewed Hope Housing Estate project in Yobe State.

During an inspection visit to the site in Damaturu, the Minister threatened to revoke contracts awarded to non-performing contractors after discovering that the project, which was awarded in 2024 with a four-month completion timeline, is still only about 40 percent completed after two years.

The Minister emphasized the need for accountability, timely delivery, and strict adherence to project specifications under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope housing initiative.
