Man, Docked For Alleged N1.3M Theft.
An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday slammed N500,000 bail on 35-year-old man, Hamzat Musibau, docked for alleged N1.3 million theft.
Musibau had pleaded not guilty to a three-count charge bothering on theft.
The Magistrate, Mrs Fatima Sodamade, ordered the defendant to produce one surety in like sum.
Sodamade said the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must show evidence of tax payments to Osun Government.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Ajayi, had told the court that the accused committed the offence sometimes in 2015 at about 11:00 a.m. at Igbona Area of Osogbo.
Ajayi said the accused, a staff of Dee N2 Global Ventures, broke into the office of his employer, Chief Adeniji Jones, while he was out of the office and stole the money.
He said the offence contravened Sections 516, 390(9), and 414 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.11 Laws of Osun, 2003.
The case was adjourned until Oct. 25 for mention. (NAN)
