The State Peer Review mechanism is a unique innovation by the Nigeria Governors’ Forum to assist states in accelerating the pace of their development through periodic reviews of progress in the implementation of their development policies, plans and programmes.
This they believe will help State Governors to learn from one another about innovative and good practices. The Director General of Nigeria Governors’ Forum Ashishama Okauru is glad that the report on Anambra and Ekiti States will re-invigorate governance at all levels.
The National Programme Manager, state Partnership for Accountability, Responsiveness and compatibility, Dr. Joe Abah described it as an honest assessment of States strengths, weaknesses and opportunities. Commendable practices were identified in Anambra State, these include peace and tranquility, support for small medium enterprises and debt management while in Ekiti State, economic development, public finance management and human resource management form the 8 inspirational developments recorded in the State Peer Review Report
