ICPC Tells CSO's to Monitor LG Funds
Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, Mr. Ekpo Nta has called on Civil Society Organizations to show more concern on the way Local Governments are run in order to have greater impact on the generality of the populace. He gave the charge at the training of volunteers in anti corruption matters.
In addition to the challenge to the civil society organizations, one other important area where the ICPC Chairman stressed that the CSO’s could engender greater confidence from the public on anti-corruption matters is if they themselves adopt self cleansing mechanisms to make them live above board.
The training workshop drew contributions from resource persons in their various assessments of Nigerian institutions in the area of corruption and transparency. The plan is to compare notes and see areas deserving improvement.
