President Jonathan Responds to El-Rufai Allegation
The Presidency has reacted to a wild allegation on President Goodluck Jonathan by the former FCT Minister, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai where he accused the President of playing Ethnic and Religious politics.
A statement by Presidential Spokesman, Mr. Reuben Abati says the allegation is far from the truth as President Jonathan joined Muslims in the Ramadan fast as well as the funding of the Islamic Education in Northern Nigeria.
Apart from this, Mr. Abati stated that the President has in his cabinet Muslims holding sensitive positions and has also ensured a balance that has been commended by many in the Islamic fold.
Mr. Abati said it is unfortunate that Mallam El-Rufai who had tweeted indecent comments on Jesus Christ is accusing the President of playing Religious Politics. The Presidential Spokesman also noted that El-Rufai who has also accused General Muhammadu Buhari of being insensitive to Nigeria’s diversity, is today serving the same Buhari.
On allegations by El-Rufai accusing the Vice President of mismanagement as Governor of Kaduna State that compelled his successor to complain, Mr. Abati stated that at no time did the Late Governor Yakowa ever accuse the Vice President of incurring any huge debt during his tenure as Governor of Kaduna State.
Mr. Abati state that the accounts El-Rufai rendered in his recent collection of half truths and outright lies which he titles “The Accidental Public Servant” further defines his public image as an ungrateful, self serving and loquacious personality.
