Kebbi Local Gov’t Elections: Police Deploys 5,000 Personnel
The Kebbi Police Command, says it will deploy 5,000 policemen to provide security during the conduct of local government election in the state on July 17.
Spokesman of the command, DSP Mustapha Suleiman, said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Birnin Kebbi that the police would be supported by other security agencies during the election.
According to him, there will be movement restrictions between 6am and 6pm on election day and advised residents adhere to the order.
He assured that the police and other security agencies would provide adequate security, to allow eligible voters exercise their franchise and safeguard the people against any threat.
Suleiman called for the support of the residents to ensure peace before, during and after the council polls.
NAN reports that chairmanship and councilors elections would be held in the 21 local government councils of the state on Saturday.(NAN)
