The transformation in the Nigerian Army is on course with the commissioning of the newly acquired patrol boats and crafts by the Minister of State Defence Olusola Obada, supported by her counterpart in Finance Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. The Minister said government is committed to the fight against illegalities on the Nation’s territorial waters through the empowerment of the Nigerian Navy.
The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Dele Joseph Ezeoba, said there is no place for criminals on the sea saying that the new platforms will be appropriately deployed to deliver on the zero tolerance stance for illegal oil bunkering. Dignitaries later embarked on a tour of facilities on the boats.
