FROM THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY (SENATE & HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES)
It is a live and sometimes recorded telecast of plenary at the Senate and House of Representatives, exclusive to NTA. It was launched after the return to democracy in 1999 to highlight parliamentary trends and proceedings in Nigeria's bicameral legislature. Showing on Wednesdays and Thursdays (11.30AM - 1PM), it affords citizens the opportunity to get first-hand information and education on the constitutional role of the legislative arm with regards to processes of lawmaking, engagements with the executive and other stakeholders, to enable them appreciate the principle of seperation of powers as enshrined in the constitution. The programme also helps bridge the information gap between the legislature at the centre and the citizens on the imperatives of representative democracy. It brings to the fore the progress and status of profound legislations that touch the core of Nigeria's economic, political, security, and social developments.
