Afrobeats star Davido has revealed plans to venture into acting and film production, with the singer set to co-executive produce upcoming films alongside filmmaker and longtime collaborator Dammy Twitch.
In a recent interview with VIBE magazine, the award-winning Afrobeats star revealed that he is set to appear in a film in 2026 while also co-executive producing two films alongside filmmaker and cinematographer Dammy Twitch. Davido has previously made cameo appearances in Toyin Abraham’s 2020 comedy Fate of Alakada and Coming 2 America, where he appeared as himself in a musical performance.
Davido also spoke about his sixth studio album, Oriadé, the unwavering support of his family and the challenges he faced early in his career. During the interview, the singer said he would prefer that his children do not pursue careers in music because he understands firsthand the demands and pressures of the industry, although he would not stop them if they chose that path. He also credited his family as his greatest source of strength, helping him navigate personal tragedies and public controversies throughout his career.

Dammy Twitch and Davido first began working together in 2017, when Davido’s team brought him on board to shoot and cover performances. This collaboration quickly led to Dammy Twitch directing the DMW label music video for “Aje” in Senegal later that year. Following these early assignments, he became an integral part of Davido’s visual team and has since documented the artist’s tours around the world.
