The rising Nigerian fashion designer opens up about his passion for creativity, his transition from being a graduate of computer science to fashion, and how Igala heritage influences the identity of his growing menswear brand.
Walking into Attahk.ng, one thing quickly becomes clear — this is more than just a space for creating clothes. It is a reflection of a personal journey built on passion, creativity and a desire to bring ideas to life.
Sitting down with Anthony Chubiyojo Agada at his outlet, it becomes clear that fashion, for him, is not merely about creating clothes — it is about bringing ideas to life. He speaks with the confidence of a designer who understands that building a brand takes time, discipline and consistency. Long before he launched his label, fashion was already a passion that had shaped his creative journey for years.
“I can’t give up,” he tells me. “The business for me is passion. You are your marketer, your influencer and doing everything. Passion drives me.”

His journey into fashion began long before he officially became a designer. As a child, Anthony found himself experimenting with clothes, using creativity to transform existing designs into something new.
“I used to tear my mum’s gown, recreate things,” he recalls. “The passion has been there all my life since primary school.”
That passion would eventually lead him to create Attahk.ng, a brand built around timeless style and a belief that fashion should represent identity.
Agada’s path was not a straightforward one. He studied Computer Science, but creativity remained a constant part of his life. After completing his NYSC programme in November 2024, he decided to take fashion more seriously and begin building the brand he had always envisioned.

He admits that the journey has not been without challenges, especially as an independent designer responsible for multiple aspects of the business. But rather than seeing these responsibilities as obstacles, Agada views them as part of the process of building something meaningful.
“I am not successful yet, but I am on the path to that success,” he says. For Agada, the foundation of Attahk.ng is simple: create pieces that remain relevant beyond trends. “My brand is timeless,” he says.
The designer’s vision is focused on creating sophisticated menswear, particularly within the urban fashion space. While the brand also explores traditional designs, he believes his strongest connection is with modern, refined clothing.
“I am not for everybody in the market,” he explains. “Only sophisticated men.” His approach is guided by a simple philosophy: “Simplicity is sophistication.”

A major influence behind Attahk.ng is Agada’s connection to his heritage. The designer draws inspiration from the masquerades of the Attah of Igala land, using cultural elements as a foundation for his creative expression. For him, fashion is a way to preserve identity while creating something relevant for today’s audience.
Rather than simply reproducing traditional aesthetics, Agada seeks to reinterpret them through contemporary designs, creating pieces that reflect both heritage and modern sophistication.
Beyond the designs themselves, Agada believes the relationship between a designer and clients is essential to building a lasting brand. He says the support from his customers has been encouraging because they recognise the value and intention behind his work. “My clients are very good to me because they see value in what I do,” he says. For a young brand still growing, that trust has become an important part of Attahk.ng’s journey.

Anthony Agada knows he is still building. He does not present himself as someone who has reached the destination, but as a designer committed to the journey. With Attahk.ng, his goal is to create a fashion brand known for timeless designs, cultural storytelling and quality craftsmanship.
From a young boy experimenting with his mother’s clothes to a designer creating his own fashion identity, Agada’s story is one of passion meeting purpose. And as he continues to grow, one belief remains at the centre of his vision: “My brand is timeless.”
