On Wednesday, the organisers of the Renewed Hope Unity Cup Football Competition held an investiture ceremony at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja, appointing Ibrahim Musa Gusau, President of the Nigeria Football Federation, as Patron of the competition.

The investiture conducted by Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande, a former NFF Executive Committee member, two-time member of the House of Representatives, and current Chairman of the Plateau State Football Association, formed part of strategic efforts to secure broader support and strengthen collaboration ahead of the 2026 edition of the competition. Discussions focused on building partnerships and mobilising stakeholders towards advancing youth empowerment, national unity, and talent development through football.

The Renewed Hope Unity Cup is an ambitious grassroots initiative designed to engage all 774 Local Government Areas in Nigeria, using sport as a platform to unite young people and discover emerging talents nationwide.
