The Lagos State Government has warned that it will no longer treat lightly buildings marked as structurally defective, reaffirming its commitment to protecting lives and property.

The warning came after state officials visited the site of a collapsed three-storey building in the Alakeja area of Lagos.

Authorities stressed that owners of distressed buildings must comply with safety directives, as the government intensifies efforts to prevent future building collapses through stricter enforcement of building regulations and structural integrity standards.
