Nigerian Army Ambushes Terrorists in Kogi Forest Operation

The Nigerian Army has neutralized terrorists operating within Kogi State following a coordinated ambush along suspected bandit crossing points in the Adankolo Forest Reserve in Lokoja Local Government Area.

According to a statement by Lieutenant Hassan Abdullahi, troops of the 12 Brigade Quick Response Group laid ambush at strategic crossing points in the early hours of May 10, 2026, and engaged the terrorists in a gun battle.

The operation led to the neutralization of one terrorist, while others reportedly escaped with gunshot wounds into nearby bushes. Troops recovered two AK-47 rifles, one fabricated pistol, six magazines, 145 rounds of special ammunition, a motorcycle, medications, three mobile phones, and ₦62,900 during the operation.
