While Team Nigeria has been making headlines for its performances at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, the country’s athletes have also been attracting attention as the team’s striking sports kits have emerged as one of the standout fashion statements of the Games, blending contemporary athletic design with elements of Nigerian identity.
Ahead of the Games, Team Nigeria officially unveiled its Glasgow 2026 kits on July 2, 2026, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. During the ceremony, the athletes received their PUMA training and competition apparel in preparation for the Commonwealth Games. Through its partnership with PUMA, Persianas Retail Limited, one of Nigeria’s leading retail companies, provided the team with training kits, competition wear, bags and other performance gear designed to support the athletes throughout their preparations and campaign in Glasgow.

Team Nigeria has not only impressed with its performances at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow but has also emerged as one of the Games’ best-dressed delegations. The team’s ceremonial attire, designed by Monidaeys, featured agbada-inspired silhouettes crafted with handwoven Aso-Oke, celebrating Nigeria’s rich textile heritage while projecting a modern sense of culture and national pride.
On the competition stage, Team Nigeria’s PUMA kits also captured global attention, particularly the aerodynamic track cycling skinsuits with their striking neon green-and-white zigzag pattern—a bold nod to Nigeria’s iconic 2018 FIFA World Cup jersey that quickly became a viral sensation among fans.

More than just uniforms, Team Nigeria’s kits reflect a growing appreciation for how sport, culture and fashion can come together to tell a nation’s story on the global stage. Every appearance at an international competition reinforces that identity, with the country’s signature green and white colours serving as a powerful symbol of national pride.
Whether through ceremonial attire inspired by traditional craftsmanship or high-performance competition wear, the kits have become an extension of Nigeria’s sporting identity, celebrating both heritage and innovation every time the athletes step onto the world stage.
