Nollywood actress EyiyemiOlivia Rogbinyin, now 55, has revealed that she still harbours a strong desire to feature in an action film. She shared this during an appearance on the set of the ‘Morayo Show’, when asked about the roles she still hopes to play in her acting career, adding that she has more stamina than people realize.
Despite a successful career in television and film, EyiyemiOlivia Rogbinyin transitioned into fashion and design, running her business, Olivia Concept, for 24 years and establishing herself as its creative force. According to Eyiyemi, her return to Nollywood was prompted by a calling from God. Since coming back, she has featured in a few movie productions, expressing special gratitude to film producer Omoni Oboli for the opportunities she received, particularly in the film What The Heart Hides. She remarked, “Working in Nollywood is an experience—once I have committed on paper, I give you everything God has given to me.”
EyiyemiOlivia Rogbinyin says that the reason she is on any Nollywood set is to give her absolute best. At 55, she is intentional about choosing roles where she can put her best foot forward and add value to the production that hires her. Her deep faith shines through as she explains, “When God sends you somewhere, He equips you,” yet she also believes it is essential to study and understand people, regardless of one’s calling.
In 2020, while observing the COVID lockdown, she auditioned for a small part in Itura. She later received a callback for a larger role and ultimately featured in 170 out of the show’s 260 episodes. As for broadcasting, she remains open to new opportunities and is ready to embrace them whenever they arise.
When asked about the legacy she hopes to leave, EyiyemiOlivia Rogbinyin responded that she does not wish to be remembered for anything specific. Instead, she hopes to impact others with the grace God has given her while she is still alive, rather than being celebrated only after her death.
