The National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre (NCCC), Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), has expressed appreciation following its recognition at the International Cybersecurity Conference 2026, organised by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
At the event held on 28 October 2026, the Centre received the Best Cybersecurity Innovation Award, while its National Coordinator, Ahmad Sa’ad Abubakar, received the Cybersecurity Leader of the Year and Lifetime Achievement in Cybersecurity awards.
The National Coordinator expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his vision of a secure, innovative and prosperous digital Nigeria.
He noted that this vision provides direction for strengthening cybersecurity, protecting national interests and building confidence in Nigeria’s digital economy.
He also appreciated the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for his strategic leadership, guidance and unwavering support for the Centre.
His commitment to stronger coordination and national security continues to drive the NCCC’s efforts towards a safer cyberspace.
“These honours are a collective achievement. I sincerely thank the entire NCCC team for their dedication, professionalism and hard work.
Without their commitment and support, these achievements would not have been possible,” the National Coordinator said.
The Centre commended NITDA for organising the International Cybersecurity Conference 2026 and providing a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing and recognition of contributions to cybersecurity.

It expressed appreciation to the Agency and the organisers for the awards and for supporting innovation within Nigeria’s cybersecurity community.
Looking ahead, the NCCC’s priorities include advancing the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) to strengthen threat analysis, early warning, digital investigations and incident response.
The Centre also recognises the growing threats posed by the misuse of AI, including deepfakes, impersonation and sophisticated cyber fraud. Developing relevant skills and strengthening partnerships are essential to helping Nigeria benefit from AI while addressing these risks.
Through its coordination mandate, the NCCC continues to strengthen collaboration among government institutions, security and law enforcement agencies, the private sector and international partners to protect critical national information infrastructure and improve national cyber resilience.
The Centre views these awards as a renewed call to service and remains committed to delivering practical results in support of Nigeria’s national security and digital development.
