President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja following his Umrah pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, with official engagements and political activities expected to feature prominently in his schedule in the coming days.

The President arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 8:53 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, after completing the pilgrimage in Makkah, where he said he prayed for Nigeria’s peace, unity, security and prosperity.

His return comes at a time when the administration faces several national issues, while political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections are also gathering momentum.

One of his first scheduled engagements is a working visit to Akwa Ibom State on Friday, November 6. During the visit, Tinubu is expected to commission several projects executed by the state government under Governor Umo Eno.

The projects include the International Terminal Building at Victor Attah International Airport, the Airport Hospital, Aviation Village, the 14.5-kilometre Nsit Atai–Okobo Road, Ring Road 3 Extension, and the state’s Security and Command Centre.

Ahead of the visit, Governor Eno declared Friday a work-free day to enable residents, particularly civil servants, to participate in the President’s reception. The governor said the visit would also provide an opportunity to showcase infrastructure projects undertaken by his administration.

Beyond the official visit, Tinubu is also scheduled to participate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally in Rivers State on Saturday, November 7, according to the party’s published campaign timetable.

The Rivers rally is part of the APC’s wider mobilisation activities ahead of the 2027 general elections. Tinubu is expected to personally attend campaign events in 12 states, while other party leaders are scheduled to represent him at rallies in other locations.

The President had earlier indicated that he would not attend every campaign rally, explaining that he also needed to remain focused on governance while the party’s campaign team carried out its activities across the country.

Meanwhile, several national issues remain on the agenda, including security challenges, the cost of living, economic reforms, employment and the delivery of infrastructure projects.

Although the Presidency has not published a comprehensive schedule of the President’s engagements beyond the announced visits, attention will also be on his next policy decisions and the government’s response to these concerns.
