Shakira has teamed up with Burna Boy to create “Dai Dai,” the official anthem for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set for release on May 14. The track fuses Latin-pop and Afrobeats, and a teaser shared on Instagram offers a glimpse of the artists gearing up for the tournament, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Shakira first performed at a FIFA World Cup in 2006, delivering “Hips Don’t Lie” at the closing ceremony in Germany. She is best known, however, for her iconic World Cup anthem “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” released for the 2010 tournament in South Africa.

This collaboration follows a long line of high-profile, official FIFA songs and promises to bring a fresh, global sound to the upcoming 48-team tournament.

This milestone marks a significant moment for the Afro-fusion star, who follows in the footsteps of Davido as the second Nigerian artist to feature on a FIFA World Cup anthem. Davido made history in 2022 when he appeared on the official tournament song, “Hayya Hayya (Better Together),” alongside American singer Trinidad Cardona and Qatari pop star AISHA.
