The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission and San José State University are exploring a strategic partnership to equip Nigerian students and young professionals with globally competitive technology skills.

A major outcome of the meeting between Abike Dabiri-Erewa and Cynthia Teniente-Matson is the proposed Silicon Valley Tech Bridge Initiative—a summer programme offering immersive training in Artificial Intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and medical devices.

The initiative will combine academic coursework with industry exposure through engagements with leading technology companies, including Adobe, LinkedIn, and Jabil, while participants will also take part in Black Engineer Week and receive mentorship from accomplished Nigerian professionals in the diaspora.

NiDCOM says the programme will strengthen educational collaboration, promote innovation, and prepare Nigerian youths for opportunities in the global technology ecosystem.
