Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says countries that invest in artificial intelligence could transform their societies and industries at a pace previously difficult to imagine, as governments and technology leaders debate how to harness the rapidly evolving technology.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has described artificial intelligence as the “great equalizer,” saying countries that invest in the technology could rapidly transform their societies and industries. Huang made the remarks at the US-hosted G20 Innovation Summit in North Carolina, where government officials and technology leaders are gathering to discuss artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.

Speaking during a meeting with US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Huang highlighted the potential of AI to accelerate development, particularly for countries that are prepared to invest in the infrastructure and capabilities needed to adopt the technology.

“In a lot of ways, this is the great equalizer,” Huang said, lauding the potential of AI to reshape economies and societies.

“For the countries that invest in it, it’ll help elevate your society, elevate your industry much, much more quickly than you possibly could have imagined,” he added.

Huang has become one of the most influential voices in the global AI industry as Nvidia’s advanced processors have become central to the development and deployment of modern AI systems. The company, which he co-founded in 1993, has evolved from a graphics-chip specialist into a major supplier of the computing infrastructure powering the current AI boom.
