Cane Corso Abuja Showcase Highlights Responsible Dog Breeding, Global Standards

Dog breeders, owners and enthusiasts gathered in Abuja for the 2026 Cane Corso Specialty Show, an event aimed at promoting responsible breeding, preserving the breed and strengthening Nigeria’s growing canine industry through internationally recognised standards.

The showcase, held on October 3 at Copa Cabana Garden in Wumba District, Abuja, was organised by the Cane Corso Kennel Club, Nigeria (CCKC), as part of its two-city specialty show, which also took place in Ibadan on October 1.

The event provided a platform for Cane Corso dogs to be assessed against recognised breed standards, with attention to physical structure, movement, temperament, balance and overall soundness. Such evaluations help breeders understand the strengths and weaknesses of their dogs and make informed decisions about future breeding programmes.
