The Director General of the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB), Mr. Gregoire Njaka, has paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mallam Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, in Abuja. Mr. Njaka, who leads the AUB Secretariat in Dakar, Senegal, is in Nigeria to further boost the Union’s activities, noting that NTA is one of the strongest members among the organization’s 52 member states.

During their meeting, the two broadcast leaders discussed issues of mutual interest and explored ways both organizations can leverage their expertise to elevate Africa’s broadcast industry. While the AUB DG harped on building a common ground for speedy development of the Industry in Africa, the DG NTA recognized the support of AUB to the industry across the continent and pledged to make the Voice of Nigeria to join the organization, in addition to NTA and FRCN from Nigeria.

Mr. Njaka also shared that he visited NigComSat to explore partnerships that would enable other African national broadcasting organizations to subscribe to its high-quality, cost-effective services. Following his engagements in Abuja, the AUB Director General has since returned to Dakar, Senegal.
