For the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), sustaining relevance and generating substantial revenue in today’s fast-evolving business landscape requires looking beyond traditional broadcasting and embracing innovative opportunities. This was the central message delivered on the opening day of the 2026 National Marketing Conference, organized by the NTA’s Marketing Directorate.
The two-day event features business sessions, trainings, paper presentations, and an award ceremony aimed at equipping marketing staff with new strategies for success. In her opening remarks, Director of Marketing Hauwa Nimyel encouraged marketing professionals across the zones to join the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), emphasizing that ARCON membership is an important aspect of self-development.

She added that staff from other directorates have also expressed strong interest in joining the marketing unit and becoming part of ARCON, highlighting the growing recognition of professional development within the organization.
In addition, Tunji Adekoya, Managing Director of NTA TV Enterprises, emphasized that ARCON membership is a commitment that requires significant time, sacrifice, and dedication to the practice.

Nura Hassan, Marketing Manager at NTA Kebbi, shared that participating in the conference provides him with valuable learning experiences and new strategies to enhance marketing operations at his station. He also expressed his delight at meeting the Director General NTA—fondly known as the Chief Marketer—highlighting the importance of direct engagement with leadership in motivating staff and fostering professional growth.
For over 20 years, the NTA Directorate of Marketing has provided this forum to engage marketing staff on new strategies and ideas for revenue generation, as well as capacity building.
